Once again, I have “busy-ed” myself so much so as to not have time to drift into the ethers and commune to create.

Each morning
same time
same place
same ritual
waiting to hear
that whisper that says
“Yes. We will write together again”
Each Day
I must touch/
the bark of a tree/
or the blade of grass/
or stare into the folds of a flower/
each day/
to reignite/
the mystery/
of life.
Join Me for My First Author Event at Fate Bookstore!
Well, here I go with my first bookstore appearance.
I thought I was signing up for a similar event in downtown Dallas on the same day, but am not.
I’ll be in Fate, Texas just thirty minutes east of Dallas and am very happy to be part of the new-ish independent bookstore. They will have everything- books, authors, tatoo artists, candle-makers, mysteries and all.
Next step in my life as an author.
I Can See Clearly Now
Every day for years he told her that she was beautiful.
She would always dismiss him saying he needed new glasses.
One day he got them.
Then he left her.
Table for One
sitting here alone
everyone else is solo
wanting to connect
Did I really Win?
Sitting at the coffee shop this morning writing and wondering when I’ll publish again.
An email arrived saying I’d won a national contest and my poetry chapbook will be published this fall.
My first thought? Really?! Is this true? Is it a quality press?
Yes, and yes!
Cafe Crowd Diaspora
We’ve been wandering for nine weeks now
The old place closed without notice
The weekday usuals scattered
by twos and fours
to several sites
around the area
but the weekend regulars
have all landed
at the sister café
three miles
down the road
some staff
from the old place
are here
smiles, hugs, laughter
trying to make
it feel
like it did before
wanting home
in a new place
Let’s Dream Again
The fog of fantasy
has burned off.
Reality looks
stark.
I want to dream again.
Writer’s Life
Most days I sit here
alone in a full cafe
writing for those
I’ll never know.
